European folk dancing

"Come and learn easy and fun European folk dances! Some are danced with a partner and some without. Some involve skipping and jumping and others involve turning and twirling. Some are from France and others from Sweden. All have simple basic formats and allow for many variations. Unlike ceilidh and country dancing, which is done to specific instructions, European folk dancing – sometimes known as bal dancing or balfolk – is usually not taught and just danced in a line or with a partner, focusing on improvisation and awareness of the space around you. Formerly home-educated Sol  has been dancing European folk for several years on her local folk scene and at festivals. Sol is also a step dancer, ceilidh caller and musician."
