We’ve had lots of wonderful musicians and bands perform for us at AEFES over the years – here’s our list! Thank you so much to everyone who performed at AEFES in the past, and we hope we can welcome you back again some day! AEFES Ceilidh with Sharpish

Sharpish are a five-piece family folk band based in Sheffield. Two years running now they have brought ceilidh dancing to everyone at AEFES!

Anya Bedford

14-year old home educated Anya Bedford is a talented young singer. She has performed for us twice now, singing covers and self-penned contemporary songs. Anya was the opening act at the very first AEFES!

Bach at Bedtime

Annelies Scott is a home educator, cellist and music teacher. For the past two AEFESes, every afternoon on the Village Green has been filled with the beautiful sounds of her cello playing – a truly magical addition to AEFES.


An exciting indie-folk duo from Brighton, Boxtape play a rousing mixture of covers and original material. We were delighted to welcome them to headline AEFES 2017.

Cassidy Faraday

Home educated Cassidy Faraday is a promising young guitarist and singer who played for us in 2016.

Chloe Leigh and the Willow Trio

We asked Brighton-based Chloe Leigh and her Willow Trio to headline for us in 2016 and we couldn’t have been happier with the result! They delighted us with a rousing set of brilliant songs, both originals and covers. With guitarist, percussionist and double bassist making up the band, Chloe Leigh and the Willow Trio have a full sound and an irresistibly catchy vibe.

Chloe Marcela

A brilliant singer-songwriter from Brighton playing original material and covers from blues to country, Chloe Marcela has graced our stage twice now and we always love her music!

Derelict Dream

Formerly home educated Lou Raven and his metal band Derelict Dream were a smash hit in 2016 and 2017, and spawned – of all things – a swordfighting mosh pit!

Drip Fed Empire

Alternative metal/techno band Drip Fed Empire were a great way to round off Metal Monday at AEFES 2017!

Harvey Bourne

Harvey Bourne is a young local singer-songwriter who we were delighted to invite to play at the last night of AEFES 2016.


Former frontman of Prisms, Jako played an awesome ambient-rock live show for us at AEFES 2017!

Maya Loreto-Miller

Home educated Maya Loreto-Miller plays contemporary rock/pop, traditional folk and original songs on acoustic guitar.


Young acoustic duo N/A played a lovely set on the first night of AEFES 2016.

Prehensile Thrashings

Made up of 3 home educated teenagers, Prehensile Thrashings is an experimental metal band who opened Metal Monday for us in 2017.


Brighton-based band Prisms have now sadly parted ways, but we adored the chilled out set they played for us at AEFES 2016!

River James

Formerly home educated River James is a singer-songwriter with a classical music background. Their songwriting ranges from poetic ballads to philosophical / political music; we were blown away by their set at AEFES 2017!

Rough Citizen

Rough Citizen is a pop musician from Brighton who played a gorgeous set for us at AEFES 2016. We’re honoured to have him on our list of past performers!

Roxanne Mickaela 

Roxanne is a talented young singer-songwriter who plays covers and original songs on guitar and piano. In 2017 Roxanne played a poignant, beautiful set to finish the festival and we couldn’t have asked for a better closing act.

Talitha Rise

Beautiful, soul-stirring neo-folk music from singer and multi-instrumentalist Talitha Rise, who we’re delighted to be able to include on our list of past performers at AEFES.

Tymon Dogg

Fiddlesinger, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Tymon Dogg is renowned internationally for his contribution to the folk and punk scenes. He has played with the Clash and Enrique Morente and was a member of Joe Strummer’s Mescaleros until Joe’s death.

The Wondersmiths

A Luton/Brighton indie rock group who played us a lively and enthusiastic set at AEFES 2016.


YouUkes is David Farady and Shirley Wardell, bringing singalongs, fun and kazoos to festivalgoers old and young! They run regular clubs and workshops at their home near Guildford – check their website for more information.
